Pet Portraits - Montalvo Arts Center
- June 16 to June 27, 2025 -
Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced young artist, this two-week watercolors camp has something for everyone. Campers will create portraits of their pets and new animals they meet using the artistic principles they learn. Campers will be introduced to kittens, bunnies, or other pets from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority via our partner at Project HumaneKind. We’ll learn about constructive feedback, become humane advocates, and explore about the native plants and animals around the property.
S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research
“When one teaches, two learn” - How teaching students to think creatively at an NGO in India taught me how to create art myself.
In May 2024, I had the unique opportunity to teach at SPJIMR’s (S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research) Abhyudaya. It is a community-based organization that provides mentoring and holistic after-school education to bright, underprivileged children from low-income neighborhoods in Mumbai so that they become independent and the schools and community around them improve.
While here, I oversaw a week-long camp that helped students engage in various mediums of art and creativity, and made a lasting impact on their lives and mine.
